London Underground instructed us to conduct a full survey to map and classify the vegetation associated with the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly Lines.

We surveyed 130km all trackside land having arranged all necessary documentation, access, training and protection. All the information collected was uploaded into our GIS and land management database system with enough data to risk assess all vegetation with regards to track safety.

Our client used our survey data, to manage their vegetation more effectively and reduce disruption to trains.

We surveyed all vegetation and fencing at stations within the Central, Bakerloo, Victoria, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and District Lines. Data was mapped into our GIS and bespoke land management database system. All vegetation and fencing was risk assessed with regards to safety to track or third party.

On completion our clients received drawings and data on all assets for use with further, regular inspections plus a schedule of assets requiring urgent attention.

Our regular inspection services are utilised by our client in order to keep an eye on the condition of ongoing vegetation management at 117 train stations.The information collected is recorded on our in-house Land Management System, through which we can report works in accordance with his monthly programme.

Norton Associates are engaged to carry out quarterly inspections of over 250km of trackside land, reporting where vegetation issues are impacting upon track safety and affecting civil assets.

The ongoing management of vegetation for off track and station environments requires continual assessments and work. To this end we are regularly commissioned to supply vegetation work packages which can mitigate potential damage and reduce long term costs. Our service often includes clerk of works responsibilities. We provide clear, regular information about track safety, leaf fall and other hazards that can cause disruption to the service.

Our client needed to carry out improvement works in several locations across the Northern Line. We were commissioned to provide advice on the environmental restoration of embankments and landscaping design for stations. After creating the designs based on detailed specification including a schedule of rates and drawings, works commenced. On this assignment we acted on behalf of our client as a clerk of works, producing a cost effective, low maintenance solution.

We were commissioned to design a small courtyard that reflected the local character of the surrounding houses and landscape.
